Starch Green screenprints generally start as letterpress printed wood engravings by Jonathan, which we then scan at high resolution and enlarge.
Kate then prints the enlargements as screenprints in relatively low numbered editions, usually in one or two colours. The images created are impactful, bold and dramatic.
For instance, 24 Carat Goldfish is even printed with hand applied 24 carat gold-leaf, and the Atomic series uses 'neon' fluoro colours, all demonstrating that the jewel-like wood engravings can transform into bold and dramatic screenprints.
